François I and Dutch Art Latest blog

The Louvre Museum will be hosting, until January 15th, an exhibition called “François I and Dutch Art” and that puts on display a diverse and large body of valuable Dutch artworks from King François I of France’s art collection.

During his reign, François I assembled some of the most remarkable masterpieces which were made by both known and less known European artists. Though he was mainly popular for being fond of Italian art, in particular, his strong interest in Dutch art can obviously be seen through the richness of his collection of Dutch artworks.

Paintings by artists like Jean Clouet, Corneille de La Haye, and Joos van Cleve, are among the exhibits, in addition to other magnificent sculptures, tapestries, and jewel pieces.

Our Hotel Monsieur Cadet Hotel & Spa is located at a short distance walk of 25 minutes from the Louvre. So, do not hesitate to visit the museum and view this magnificent exhibition.
